Make Your Own Homemade Moisturizer for Dry Skin



Dry skin often leads to flaking, itching, and peeling. Tackle dry skin by having an all-natural homemade skin moisturizer for dry skin and leave your skin feeling and looking soft and supple.

Dry skin is common on the arms, hands, lower legs and stomach and is caused by several factors, including contact with hot or cold weather, low humidity or excessive bathing. Treat your severely dry skin having a homemade moisturizing cream.

NOTE: If your condition doesn’t improve inside a week after using the cream every day, consider seeing a dermatologist to help treat the problem.


Aloe Vera and Olive Oil



  • Extract gel from the large leaf of natural aloe vera plant.
  •  Mix it with a tsp of virgin olive oil. 
  • Use it morning and evening. 
It can be kept in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.


Avocado and Honey


Avocado is an extremely good homemade moisturizer that will do wonders for your skin.

  • Put a peeled avocado inside a blender till it becomes smooth and soft. 
  •  Add two teaspoons of pure honey. 
  • Wash your face then use the mixture. 
  •  Wash it off with warm water after 30 minutes.

An Amazing Remedy To Get Rid Of Dandruff





Dandruff. Ugh! That stuff can be sooooo embarassing. The itching... The 'snowflakes' on the shoulder and sleeves... *shudders* I'm sure we can all relate.
Anyhoo, this stuff is ah-mazing. You should try it sometime!

  • 2 Aspirins
  •  Enough dandruff shampoo to wash your hair
Directions


  1. Dissolve aspirins in the shampoo. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Wash your hair. 

It also helps with hair growth so, it's a double whammy. lol

TGIF and A DIY Nourishing Complexion Lotion

It's Friday (hey)
And I'm ready to swing pick up my girls
And hit the party scene
Tonight oh oh it's alright.....

 Those were the good old days. Miss you, Aaliyah! Anyway, hope you all are getting ready for the weekend!
  
This DIY lotion is very moisturizing and helps clear up an uneven complexion. It's particularly great on rough or flaky elbows and knees.

Ingredients:
Petroleum Jelly    6 tsp
Glycerin              2 tsp
Lemon or lime juice    2 tsp

Directions

  • Mix petroleum jelly, glycerin and lemon juice. 
  • Apply this moisturizing lotion at least twice a week


That's it.
Now go forth and moisturize!

Lighten Dark Lips With Some Lemon!





Hello, everyone! Hope you had a good day.
I'm sure you all must be tired of me singing about lemons! Don't blame me, blame the lemon with a thousand and one uses locked inside it! LOL
So, if you have lips that are too dark for your complexion for whatever reason, why not try it?

You'll need:
Freshly squeezed lemon juice


  1. Simply apply the lemon juice on lips. 
  2. Allow to dry. Do this twice a day.

The Adult Life, Acne Scars and Blackheads!



Acne and blackheads are problems common with oily skin which is essentially caused due to the clogged pores and collection of the oils in within the pores of the skin.

When I was a teenager, I had the smoothest face ever but as soon I hit my twenties, my face literally exploded! Pimples, blackheads, zits, and what not. At first, I was horrified then depressed; but not for long.

Then with steely resolve, I decided to dedicate my life to finding out as well as creating natural remedies for skincare. Fast forward a few years later and here we are.

These three treatments literally saved my face while I was a broke student in university because they were also food items  so there was no wastage of any sort. LOL!



Salt Water Cleanser

Salt is among time-tested treatments to cleanse pores. In order to get rid of blackheads be sure you cleanse the affected sections having a tiny amount of salty water put on a cotton ball. Wipe off the oil excess from the the surface of your skin to prevent the clogging of pores.



Lemon and Salt

Wash your face in warm water. Then, squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into a bowl. Include a pinch of salt and stir the mixture. Apply the mixture to your blackheads and whiteheads. Leave the mixture on for about 20 minutes and then wash your face with warm water again.


Potatoes

Grate raw potatoes after which rub the area with the mixture. Wash off after 20 minutes.

A Simple Sea Salt Body Scrub




 You'll need:
1 cup of coarse sea salt
1/2 cup baby oil
  • Stir the ingredients together in a bowl and put into a screw top jar.
  •  Leave for 24 hours. 
  • Stir the mixture and apply to any areas of the body you wish to exfoliate.
  • Massage into the skin for a few minutes then shower off. 
  •  Pat your skin dry.

A Yummy Banana DIY Hair Mask!



I’m sure we’re all guilty of paying closer attention to our skincare than we do to haircare. You have to remember that just as our skin gets exposed to chemicals and adverse weather conditions, so does our hair. The combination of exposure to harsh weather conditions along with the stress of styling products and tools is the ultimate formula for dry, brittle and damaged hair.

Banana is high in potassium, natural oils, carbohydrates and vitamins that will help soften, nourish, strengthen and add moisture to your hair and scalp.
So if you have dry, brittle hair or flaky scalp, and dandruff, this mask will be your cure.

Ingredients:
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of honey
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • Blender
Directions:
1.  Peel the banana and blend to a paste. If your banana isn’t ripe, stick it in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
2.  Add the lemon juice, honey and olive oil. You should notice it becoming smooth and creamy.
3.  Take the banana hair mask and apply it onto the ends of your dry hair and work your way up.
4.  Massage it thoroughly into your hair and scalp.
5.  Pack your hair in a bun and put on a shower cap and leave in the hair mask for about 30 minutes.
6.  Rinse your hair with shampoo and conditioner.

A Nutritious 100 Calorie Smoothie




I love the taste of this particular smoothie. It's a fusion of all those fruits and vegetables one would hardly expect to drink. lol. It gives a healthy dose of fibre and vitamins.
 I would like you to try it. You'll be surprised at how good it tastes.

...and it's super healthy.

Ingredients
  • 1 carrot
  • 4 cups spinach or green amaranth
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 cup guava
  • 6 ounces of water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
Directions
  1. Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.

 
Oh yes, you read that right, 100 calories.

Works for me!

Dry Hands? Try This!



Afraid to shake hands with people? Scared of making gestures with your hands? We've all been there. We've had our days. Not to worry, this treatment will have your hands smooth and supple in no time!

Ingredients
1/4 cup course brown sugar
Baby oil to make into a paste

  1. Mix ingredients together.
  2. Using a hand washing motion, apply the mixture to the hands.
  3. Continue the washing motion for a minute then rinse off with warm water and pat dry. 
Now go on shake hands with everyone!

A Simple Tightening and Toning Mask





This simple mask is very effective.  OMG!! It is the truth!!....at least for me. lol!
So please do not, I repeat, do not be fooled by it's simplicity. You should use it not more than three times a week.

You'll need:
  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon (strained)
  • 1 egg white
  1. Beat together the egg white and lemon juice for 3 minutes.
  2. Apply directly to your face, avoiding the eyes.
  3. Leave on for 30 minutes.
  4. Rinse off with warm water.
  5. Apply a light facial moisturizer to your face.

An Excellent Olive Oil Deep Hair Conditioning Mask





Hi, everyone!
How you doin'? I hope you all are having a great weekend.
I have been receiving several mails about how to care for your hair if one is an avid swimmer. We all know what the chlorine in pool water can do to the hair. You don't? Well, let me give a hint: the chlorine in swimming pool water is the same the one used to make bleach for clothes. Yikes!

Anyway, as always, I have got your back.lol
This treatment is perfect for your hair if you swim regularly.

You'll need:

Two eggs (three for long hair)
Three tablespoons of olive oil.
Add your favorite essential oils for fragrance (optional.)

  1. Mix ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Apply liberally to hair from root to tip. 
  3. Wrap hair in a shower cap and rest for about 30 minutes. 
  4. After you rinse, you will notice how soft, shiny and manageable your hair will be.
  5.  Do this once or twice a month depending in how dry your hair is.
