A Health Tip: Honey For That Night-Time Cough


Ever woken up in the middle of the night by a cough? Itchy throat, coughing non-stop and still sleepy. Ugh! It's just plain horrible.

Enter good old honey! Such a lifesaver. I could sing its praises all day! Lol.

Research suggests that honey is quite effective at quelling coughing at night



I use it all the time whenever I feel a pesky cough coming just before bed.

NOTE: Use 100% pure, raw honey. Any form of refined honey may not be as effective, if at all. 

Take up to 2 teaspoonfuls at bedtime to ensure a good night's sleep.

A Perfect Meal Replacement Smoothie



  • 2 small bananas (preferably frozen — if they're not frozen, it's okay)
  • 1 fresh orange, peeled, seeded and juiced
  • 1 cup milk full cream or skimmed
  • 1/4 cup cooked sweet potatoes, smashed with a fork
  • 1/2 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt

Put everything in a blender and blend until smooth.  I love this smoothie soooooo much. It's healthy and delicious!  Please try it out and let me know how you liked it.
